LMB presents...

Cooper Malanowski is a trombonist, composer, and producer currently based in New York, NY. Both versatile and deeply personal, Cooper’s approach to the trombone complements his compositions, creating music that is both reflective of his individual experience and universally relatable. Guided by the mentorship of Jason Moran, Anna Webber, and Kalia Vandever, Cooper unveils his distinctive voice as both a trombonist and composer through the release of his debut album, ‘Summit'. In the fall of 2022, Cooper founded his quartet, inBetween, with a mission to explore the space in-between various musical genres, and apply those perspectives to his original compositions. He furthered his explorations across art disciplines with innovative collaborations featuring visual artist: Miles Malanowski, and contemporary dancer and choreographer: Esmé Stone. Cooper's unwavering dedication to his craft has propelled him to perform as both a leader and sideman at prestigious venues in New York, Boston, and Seattle such as The Appel Room, Seattle Center, Shapeshifter Lab, The Lilypad, Jordan Hall, WKCR radio, and internationally at the Barbican Centre. He is a National YoungArts winner in 2019 and 2020, and has shared the stage with internationally renowned artists such as Danilo Perez, Arturo O'Farrill, and Jason Moran.

Emily Beisel (bass clarinet, electronics) and Bill Harris (drums, electronics), known collectively as Madam Orange, join forces this fall for a special east coast tour of the US, performing as a duo in support of their new record Parallax. Chicago-based improvisers Beisel and Harris utilize electronics, amplification, and feedback to augment their acoustic sounds, creating a sonic space that can at times be aggressive, dense, and massive, as well as subtle, spacious, and sensitive. The duo has previously toured in the midwest in 2024, as well as the east coast and Canada in 2023. Their new duo record Parallax is set to release on Chicago label Amalgam and will be available as an exclusive pre-sale on this tour.
