ANC Meeting Tonight re proposed redevelopment project
A good Monday morning to everyone.
As you probably know by now, Rhizome will likely need to move from our current home due to a proposed redevelopment of the site we inhabit.
We expect to be in our current location at least until the beginning of next Summer.
We have every intention of securing a wonderful new space to move into by then.
TONIGHT, Monday October 26, the proposed redevelopment project is on the agenda of the ANC meeting. (For those who don't live in DC - the Advisory Neighborhood Commissions are the smallest scale level of governance in DC. Rhizome is in district 4B, which covers Takoma and several surrounding neighborhoods....)

Yoko K at Rhizome (3/5)
RhizomeDC was filled with the sounds of pre-22nd century Mars pop music on Saturday night, thanks to a rare reverse time performance by Yoko K and her band of extraordinary aliens. Also enjoyed a couple of great sets from Dura and Chimiak & Zook..
Here's a little video from Yoko's performance:

Bag of Words
We had fun at the Maker Faire with bags of words! People of all ages made poems by taking individual words out of a bag and glueing them onto paper in the random order in which they were taken out. This method comes from Tristan Tzara’s instructions for making a Dadaist poem. We provided the paper bags full of words, cut out from newspapers, stories, and essays. Here are a few of the results:
