Please join us on Sunday evening July 31st as nationally-known activist, author, and Socialist Vice-Presidential candidate Eugene Puryear leads a community forum on the future of issues such as universal healthcare, free higher education, racial justice and worker's rights. We will also discuss 'Democratic Socialism' and how it differs from revolutionary politics, and what a re-invigorated Socialist movement in the United States can achieve.

Eugene Puryear is a Washington D.C.-based activist. He was a key leader In the struggle to free the Jena Six in 2007, was a founder of the Jobs Not Jails coalition, DC Ferguson Movement, and Stop Police Terror Project in Washington D.C., and is the author of the book 'Shackled and Chained: Mass Incarceration in Capitalist America'. He has also helped organize most of the largest U.S. demonstrations against the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He was a 2014 candidate for the Washington DC City Council, and is the 2016 Vice Presidential candidate of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
