Duo Exchange: Poetry + Music w/ Rod Smith, Dan Gutstein, & Lost Civilizations Project

The Duo Exchange poetry project consists of Rod Smith and Dan Gutstein, both major figures in American poetry.

Rod Smith is the author of Deed, and several other collections of poetry, and is the publisher of Edge Books. He has taught at a number of colleges and was visiting writer at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop in 2010. He is editing, along with two other writers, The Selected Letters of Robert Creeley. Dan Gutstein is the author of two collections, non/fiction, and Bloodcoal & Honey, and his writing has appeared in 75 journals and anthologies. He has taught at a number of colleges and organizations, including George Washington University and the Smithsonian. The Lost Civilizations experimental music project (http://lost-civilizations.tumblr.com/; http://goo.gl/WfSs5) is a collaboration between Mike Sebastian (tenor sax, saxello and baritone sax) and T. A. Zook (basscello). Although essentially a duo, when schedules permit, it is joined by Jerry Busher (drums); Doug Kallmeyer (bass and electronics), Sam Lohman (drums) Larry Gomez (percussion), Patrick Whitehead (horns), Dominic Fragman (drums) and Emily Chimiak (violin). At this performance, Gina Sobel will be accompanying the Lost Civilizations experimental music
