Maple House Collective presents…
Forced Into Femininity (Chicago) - "the experimental solo project of former Coughs saxophonist Jill Flanagan. She says that on her new EP, I'm Making Progress, that she's shifted away from "allegory and extended metaphor, instead addressing political concerns from the opposite perspective of punk—especially our own real positions as gatekeepers maintaining racism, classism, and sexism." - Chicago Reader

Quna (Baltimore) takes the physical form of haunting fairy tale songs meets harsh noise feedback. It is driven by the desire to shine light on the shadow self in the pursuit of integration, to pull the wisdom we don’t know we know to the surface, and to acknowledge, hold space, and bear witness to our traumas (collective, personal, environmental, physical, & particularly feminine) with the intention of healing them.
