Sunday Afternoon Groove Session w/ Arthur Loves Plastic / L’Avenir / Analog Tara / Juana
Sunday, March 26, 2017
2pm-5pm

Arthur Loves Plastic sounds like the hour before the Singularity; dominant machines clicking and humming in rhythm and harmony with a touch of subversive humanity. Arthur Loves Plastic is the melody of neurotransmissions firing into random access memory. Arthur Loves Plastic is for people who require a machine to buffer their contact with others. http://arthurlovesplastic.com

L'Avenir (instrumental set). L'Avenir is the cold synth side project of veteran electronic musician and sound artist Jason Sloan. Known throughout the space and ambient music scenes for his contemplative electronic soundscape work for close to two decades; Sloan founded L’Avenir as a side project in 2012 to explore his long time love of synt-op and minimal wave music created purely from analog and vintage equipment. Sloan is a Professor teaching full-time in the Interactive Arts department along with being the founder and program coordinator for the Sound Art program at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. http://www.jasonsloan.com/

Analog Tara - Tara Rodgers is a multi-instrumentalist composer and historian of electronic music. As Analog Tara, she has produced house, techno, and slow grooves since the late-‘90s, sampling and sequencing her performances on keyboards, drum machines, electric guitar and bass. She is the author of Pink Noises: Women on Electronic Music and Sound (2010) and numerous articles on the history of sound and synthesizers. https://www.analogtara.net
