Maplehouse Collective presents..

<<Jack Wright-Zach Darrup- Patrick Crossland>>

Legendary saxophonist Jack Wright is a veteran saxophone improviser based mainly in Philadelphia. Since the early 80s he has been playing on tour through the US and Europe in search of interesting partners and playing situations. Now at 73 he is still the "Johnny Appleseed of Free Improvisation," as guitarist Davey Williams called him back in the 80s, on the road as much as ever. He's said to have the widest vocabulary of any, an expert at leaping pitches, punchy, precise timing, sharp and intrusive multiphonics, surprising gaps of silence, and obscene animalistic sounds.

Jack will be joined by Philadelphia guitarist Zach Darrup and Baltimore trombonist Patrick Crossland.

He will also likely have copies of his new book The Free Musics, essential reading for those interested in the development and social history of Free Jazz, Free Improvisation, and related musics.
