More than 30 years ago, Washington Gas and The Salvation Army partnered to establish the Washington Area Fuel Fund (WAFF) and help local residents in need. During the winter, WAFF pays for all types of fuel to heat the homes of people in financial need. The Salvation Army disburses the funds through its 12 offices in the metropolitan region while Washington Gas pays all administrative, promotional and fundraising expenses
