Sonic Circuits presents:
Steve Hauschildt is an American electronic musician based in Cleveland. He was a member of the band Emeralds and has been releasing solo material since 2011. He has released four albums and a collection, and is currently signed to Kranky Records.
Channeling the textural experimentalism of electronic music, the catharsis of tragic opera, the growl of punk rock, and the urgency of polymetric grooves, saajtak “smelts its sonic influences into a maelstrom almost orchestral in nature and theatrical in its depth.” With a repertoire of compositions that range from complex epic forms to short frenetic noise pieces and a heavy incorporation of improvisation, the quartet is constantly developing environments that defy genre and the traditional roles of each instrument. This vastness of influence and appeal is evident in the diversity of acts they have shared the stage with, including Xiu Xiu, Gaelynn Lea, Vicky Chow, New Music Detroit, Laurie Amat, Alec Redfearn and the Eyesores, Alan Licht, and more.
An accomplished musician and protean artist, Chicago-based producer and guitarist Michael Vallera crosses his time with a perceptive ear and unparalleled vision. Profound and delicate, his music spans a vibrant palette of sonics, from the dysphoric torpor specific to the new millenium to the boundless scope of possibilities generated by new age virtualities.
