Floom Trio (VA) - Classical flutist by day and metal guitarist by night, Maxx Katz decided to stop compartmentalizing and make a project that includes the expressiveness of flute in the unforgiving, meditative geology of doom metal. Former member of Usaisamonster and Miami Nights, Katz has deep roots in experimental, noise and metal music as well as a graduate degree in musicology, extensive training in classical and jazz flute and upright bass. Here, she plays and loops guitar, flute and vocals. The resulting sonic landscapes are epic and surprising. Songs surf in and out of riff and texture, composition and improvisation, isolation and reverberation. They make room. Feel time, space, the terror of eternity. Feel yourself. Wear earplugs. For this performance, Maxx will be joined by Catherine Monnes, vocals and Kevin Davis, synth.

Gull (VA) - Nathaniel Gull Rappole is best described as a drum; a living, breathing drum of flesh on fire that cries out assorted tongues of creatures past and delivers it from a single unique perspective; a communal music broadcast of blood and bile left as an offering on the altar of sound. Gull has been active for 12 years and has recorded a 7", 3 EP's, 2 full lengths +1 in the works and has spent the past 8 years touring vigorously ~ playing venues, on the streets and in the wilds of Canada, United States, Mexico, Kenya and Europe.
Gull has toured in support of White Rabbits, Tres Mts and RNDM and has shared the bar arena with the likes of Silver Apples, Girl Talk, Deerhoof, Adrian Belew, Panda Bear and Melt Banana. In 2012 Gull was featured in a movie about music in Mexico called Hecho en Mexico (available on Netflix), and in 2014 he produced, hosted and performed in a documentary on street/public music and culture in Kenya (Street Muse: Kenya), which premiered at The Fowler Museum at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA on August 21st, 2014.
