About Radical Suburbs: Counter to stereotypes, American suburbs have been fertile ground for utopian planning, communal living, and socially conscious design. Amanda Kolson Hurley describes the surprising history of alternative suburbs like a tiny-house anarchist colony in New Jersey and a racially integrated Fifties subdivision outside of Philadelphia. Radical Suburbs is a history that will help us remake the future and rethink our assumptions of suburbia.
