Container is the stripped-down, beat-oriented electronic project of Ren Schofield, who sculpts vicious punk sonics into raw jackhammer rhythms. Started in response to his discovery of nineties minimal techno, Container combines elements from his background in noise and cassette collage music with a new found interest in repetitive beats to create this raw and damaged rhythmic sound that groove in the most relentless, hypnotic, unstoppable and psychedelic ways currently working the grid. This lo-fi mesh of maxed-out drum patterns, spiraling loops and mesmerizing arrangements makes for live music of serious weight and function, capable of both rushing high-end dancefloors and banging below-stairs basements into submission.

Control Freq - As Control Freq, DC DJ's Joyce and Sleepy G bring the essential sonic diversity to any dance floor. Joyce is co-owner of the 1432 R label, an imprint responsible for some of the city's most adventurous dance music, as well as Extended Family DC, a DJ mix series focusing on selectors in the DMV area. Her work has been featured in publications such as the Fader, National Public Radio, FACT mag, Resident Advisor, the Truants blog and Pitchfork. Sleepy G runs Club Cuttlefish, a party she curates with care and love to bring together zones of acceptance, experimentation, and fellowship. As a duo, Joyce and Shirley have graced the decks at various underground parties all over the district and rep the DC flag with honor, pride, and a lil sass. Expect their DJ sets to be hopeful, unburdening, playful, and reverent.
