Houseplant Magic Workshop
Cool weather is on the horizon, so it’s time to prepare to bring the green inside with us for the winter. Living with plants can bring incredible amounts of joy, pleasure and healing if we understand how to treat plants right.
In this workshop, you’ll learn everything you need to keep plants healthy and happy in your home. You’ll pot up a new houseplant great for beginners to bring home with you, and we’ll walk through a ritual to take advantage of the healing properties of cohabiting with our plant friends.
Miriam Zoila Pérez is a queer Latinx writer and bodyworker with a houseplant obsession. After keeping one resilient pothos alive for a few years, Pérez’s plant collection quickly expanded to over 60 plants in their one bedroom apartment. Through @houseplantparenthood on Instagram, Pérez has been sharing knowledge and busting myths about houseplant care, with an eye toward the therapeutic benefits of keeping plants in our homes. They are finishing a Certificate in Therapeutic Horticulture from the North Carolina Botanical Gardens.
