Adam Goodwin is a Texan double bassist, composer and visual artist who has been living and working in Berlin, Germany over the last seven years. After receiving degrees in classical and contemporary double bass performance, he embarked on a personal path of musical creation, participating in countless projects throughout Europe and the United States, ranging from contemporary classical music to noise rock, traditional Arabic music to doom metal.
Goodwin's musical approach places a heavy emphasis on physical gesture and spontaneity, along with a conscious consideration of the particular space and context in which the music is taking place. As composer and interpreter, he strives to return to a primordial mode of expression which places the highest priority on the individuality of the performer and the spontaneity of each unique moment.
He recently recorded and released his first solo studio album "Banishing Ritual", featuring nine original compositions for acoustic double bass.
