A Ghost Ensemble Trio (feat. Ben Richter, Alice Jones, & Lucia Starvos)
Ghost Ensemble director and accordionist Ben Richter leads an improvising trio with flutist Alice Jones and harpist/vocalist Lucia Starvos. Ghost Ensemble is dedicated to experimental music that explores the act of listening, expands perceptual horizons, and encourages a common immersive experience. In this tumultuous year, we explore the potential of remote ensemble improvisation to offer restorative community connection.

String Noise: ARCHIVE01 [Absolute Recoil] (2020) by Lester St. Louis
Absolute Recoil is a means to ask a performer to be generative, intuitive and responsive. The piece is a prompt: “Provide a non-mimetic, interactive performance in real time.” The remainder of the information in the piece is to guide you through the process to achieve the Prompt. This is a video from the LIVE premiere performance on Carnegie Hill Concerts Midday Music Festival 2020.

Ted Reichman Solo (Music & Poetry)

Lucie Vítková / Muyassar Kurdi
In our continuing duo project, we will make a new piece based on graphic scores. Muyassar Kurdi and Lucie Vítková both created new scores for the festival; Muyassar drew one for Lucie, who will perform it on hichiriki and voice, and Lucie has created a new graphic score drawn with expired makeup, which will be played by Muyassar with electronics and voice. In the 7-minute piece, we will superimpose the materials into one complete interaction.
