ONLINE EVENT: Roundtable Discussion w/ Cameron Knowler, Yasmin Williams, Eli Winter

Saturday April 24 * 8pm * REGISTER TO RECEIVE LINK

Rhizome DC presents a roundtable discussion between young guitarists Cameron Knowler, Yasmin Williams and Eli Winter, moderated by Jordan Reyes. Knowler, Williams and Winter use diverse musical idioms—including oldtime, hip hop and deep listening—to craft distinctive, uncompromising music that challenges its references as much as it stands alone. Here, they will discuss acoustic music, the guitar, composition, experimentation and improvisation, and upholding and resisting tradition.

ELI WINTER is a guitarist and writer based in Chicago, featured as a 2020 artist to watch by The Guardian and named a "generational talent" by NYCTaper; his most recent album, Unbecoming, came out last August. CAMERON KNOWLER, author of Guitars Have Feelings Too: A Method for Rural Guitarists, is a multi-instrumentalist, teacher, and independent scholar from Arizona. Anticipation, his first album of guitar duets with Winter, was released in March. YASMIN WILLIAMS is a guitarist and composer based in Woodbridge, Virginia; her album Urban Driftwood received praise in Pitchfork, Rolling Stone and The Guardian, among many others. JORDAN REYES is a multi-instrumentalist, writer, and founder of American Dreams Records.
