Join the artists of winter Fieldwork for an informal, works-in-progress showing. Artists in a mix of disciplines met weekly for the past six weeks to share work and exchange feedback in the Fieldwork method. The showing will include feedback so the audience can get a taste of the Fieldwork process.
Winter Fieldwork Artists:
Annie Choudhury: I focus on either improvisational experience or highly meticulous thought processes. The engagement is often the piece. Or not part of it at all.
Annie Peterson (she/they) is a movement artist, producer, and arts administrator in Washington, DC. Obsessed with the tension of performance, showing the play in concentration, and the often awkward sublime, her practice is rooted in somatic-based inquiry and queer calibrations.
Claire Alrich: I am a dance and textile artist committed to building creative, communal, cathartic spaces. Using immersive installation and live performance, my work invites play, invokes wonder, and initiates collaboration with the goal of elevating the mundane and making the magical tangible.
Peggy Brennan: This workshopping was gonna be for her songwriting, but Peggy brings her Self to every new day, and a weekly deadline while helpful is slightly less so in the (albeit awesome) Rhizome compared to Dance Place (where her 7 prior Field workshops occurred). Plus, with a committed audience and anything resembling a theatre, she finds herself Creating More and Testing Boundaries, therefore merely making an album of music (which she’s begun, and plays concerts a LOT) seems mundane and boring, so New Things Emerge. Wasn’t this thing supposed to only be 1 or 2 sentences long?
Zoe Wampler is a DC-based movement artist, educator, and arts administrator. Their work queers and questions embodied relationships to faith, land, and community.
Maya Renfro: I am a musician.
