Shake and Sing
A low stakes movement and voice workshop and gathering. Body-based improv shaking warm-up, followed by group singing involving rounds and rhythm. All levels welcome!
Led by Claire Alrich and Sadie Leigh
Claire is a DC artist, working in the mediums textiles, dance, and paint. In addition to making her own work Claire is: one-third of the performance collective Area Woman, Site Coordinator for The Field/DC, and a studio resident at Hole in the Sky (HITS). Claire is a 2017, 2019, 2021 recipient of an Artist Fellowship through the DC Council of the Arts and Humanities.
Sadie Leigh (she/her) is a lifelong lover, performer, and maker of dance and music, born and raised in the DC/Metropolitan area. She performs with the illustrious Heart Stück Bernie, comprises one third of the performance collective Area Woman, collaborates with Extreme Lengths Productions, and is a long time company member with Pointless Theatre Company. She particularly likes: making music with her siblings, floral desserts, and her cat, Lady Stardust. // @sadieleighbeing
