MARCUS WEBB (NJ)
Marcus Webb is an American composer, soundscape designer and multi-instrumentalist. A native of Jersey City, NJ, Webb is a prolific artist with a longstanding interest in transcending conventional music and instrumental approaches. Earlier works focus mainly on the exploration of the guitar, experimental ambient long form avant-garde compositions, improvisation, world music and occasional forays into 80's style synthwave. His latest album, Meditation In Quiet Awareness, is rooted in the artist journey as a junior priest in Soto Zen and the coming to terms with the death of his mother in June 2020. Marcus Webb crafts sounds using computers, synthesizers, samplers and various odd guitar-like instruments from around the world, of which would became a trademark in Webb's early works.
Towards the end of the 2010's Webb’s musical focus re-shifted. Inspired as much by artist such as Francisco Lopez, David Torn, and Max Neuhaus, as he is by writers such as Nikole Hannah-Jones, Webb has focused on work that involves the social, political, and racial realities of sound and listening as a socio-political practice of place making through the lens of soundscape composition. Spending most of his more recent creative output within the realms ambient, experimental, jazz, and noise genres of music, Webb is an artist who never neatly fits into any one box, and likely never will.
Marcus Webb works as a soundscape designer, composer, and acoustics consultant in New York City.

MARLO DE LARA (CA)
Informed by her journeys and coming-of-age experiences as the child of Philippine migrants, an unabashed feminist sociopolitical practice/research lens is used, editorializing on contemporary global conditions. Her practice works within the realms of sound performance, visual distraction, and film, aiming to blur definitions of the (un)intentional and (im)permanence. Using found objects, installation, and various forms of amplification, environments/structures use sound to impart meaningful affect. Focusing on interactions between sound, visual work, and the stories of those encountering the work, she revels in interpretive possibilities.
