Bobby has been creating since they were little, he started with drawing when they were a toddler, gardens were their 4-year-old passion. They discovered painting at the age of 8 with acrylics and watercolor, gouache is now their most common workform. Despite when Bobby began digital art around middle school and used a “stylus that wanted to kill” them, digital became one of their favorite mediums, along with oil pastels. Art is a form of self expression that Robin uses to communicate the concepts that cannot be explained by words alone. Plus, art is meant to be fun and enjoyable, Bobby loves creating people and texture through all mediums.
The Marksists are a trio of idiot teens based in the DC area focusing on rootsy slowcore with a sprinkling of political punk songs. Influenced by a diverse array of bands from Neutral Milk Hotel to Bad Brains, The Marksists prefer not to confine their music to one genre, and instead choose to play what is most personal to them. The Marksists feature Kye Laden on bass, Liam Marks on drums and vocals, and V Zimlich-Vazquez on guitar and vocals. Together, The Marksists devise a whirlwind of eclectic genius in their lyrics and style, leaving listeners hungry for more.
Sam Gordon and Noah Sparkman are local musicians on drums, guitar and vocals, mainly performinng alt rock.
