We are pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by Khalid Thompson, Chromatic Rhythms. Khalid’s exhibition opening was the first event we had to cancel in March of 2020, so his paintings graced the walls for few eyes to see. We are very happy to bring Khalid and his amazing work back to Rhizome.

The reception on November 11 will feature live painting by Khalid accompanied and inspired by live beats by Discipline 99.

On November 25 Khalid will offer his much-loved Painting the Moment workshop in the afternoon. Later that evening he will do live painting in collaboration with the trio of by Thomas Stanley, On Ka Davis, and Jamal Moore.

Khalid Thompson’s art is the spontaneous application of color and mixed media designed to emphasize free expression. Using intuition, he manifests a broad spectrum of abstraction that suggests relationships to jazz, nature, the African Diaspora and African culture.
