Tantric Death / Mx. Zoe! Eyerolls / Jeff Surak / James Wolf

Sunday March 12 * 7pm * TICKETS

Tantric Death is a duo from North Carolina consisting of Max Eastman (Tribe Tapes) and Kelly Koistinen. Their sound is heavily informed by improvised Free Jazz as much as it is Harsh Noise, thus creating a frantic feedback soaked whirlwind of blown out tape abuse, amplified junk and overdriven saxophone.

Mx. Zoe! Eyerolls is a Maryland-based experimental sound artist, “functioning” on the outer fringes of wtf-ness for eh let’s say like 20 years. Their sounds have been described as "super adventurous" (Tabs Out) and "an annoying noise that demands you turn it off" (THE ORGAN). They have released works on <1, Bent Window, Trepanation Recordings, Moon Musiq, Welcome to Clydebank, Obskyr, and collaborated with artists such as Earthflesh, Whitelace, vay, and Scum Alice. While we’re at it hey they’ve been featured on the Watt From Pedro Show and are at this very moment most likely falling down a flight of stairs.

Jeff Surak has been a fixture within the experimental community for many years, curating the Sonic Circuits festival, programming for Rhizome DC, and running his own Zeromoon label. His own work manifests non-linear narratives through lo-fi techniques and archaic technologies.

James Wolf is a DC-area violinist and multi-instrumentalist. He has played in Laconic Chamber, From Quagmire, Fern Knight, The Orchid, Phoenix Auto Group, as a solo performer and with Raven Bauer Durham.
