We are pleased to welcome instrument inventor Neil Feather and documentarian Skizz Cyzyk to Rhizome for a screening of Sound Mechanic, followed by Q&A with Feather and Cyzyk, and concluding performance by Wondofeather - the surreal duo of Neil Feather (on invented instruments) and Rupert Wondolowski (vocals).

Without relying on conventional documentary techniques like archival footage and talking-head interviews, Skizz Cyzyk’s observational documentary, Sound Mechanic, introduces the audience to Neil Feather’s unusual perspective on music, the unique instruments he has invented, and the creative process. Cyzyk invites the audience to observe Feather performing solo as well as collaborating with a variety of vocalists and instrumentalists, and demonstrating his instruments, such as the Wiggler, Vibrowheels, Anaplums, the Contraction, and the Former Guitar, many of which were created using found objects like bowling balls, bicycle parts and sex toys.
