Rhizome hosts a variety of bands from Jackson-Reed High School, formerly known as Wilson.

Birthday Girl is a DC based alternative rock band formed in 2022, consisting of Mabel Canty on guitar/vocals, Isabella MacKaye on bass, and Tess Kontarinis on drums. The trio recently performed at the summer Fort Reno concert series, are scheduled to perform at the 30th anniversary of the Black Cat in early September, and released their debut 8-song album in July. https://birthdaygirlmusic.bandcamp.com

Xenos is the brainchild of vocalist Nina Fernandez, a senior at Jackson-Reed. With Jamie Kelly on guitar, Marc Minsker on bass, and Jim Thomson on drums.

Patient Zero is a lean and mean rock band whose music borders on metal, with Nina Fernandez on bass, Michael Allen on vocals, Ethan Stoll on lead guitar, and Gabe on drums.
