Rhizome and The Fiction Council in Jerusalem invite you to explore captivating outdoor readings of supernatural stories rooted in Palestinian folklore. Engage with enchanting tales from Ahmad Nabil’s recent book about paranormal encounters in the Old City of Jerusalem. This is also an opportunity to share your own experiences, discuss the stories, or read aloud, blending tradition with an immersive storytelling experience. Please note that this event is for ages 18 and up. Feel free to bring a snack to share.

We at The Fiction Council identify Jerusalem as the capital for Palestinian imagination, specializing in mythology, fantasy, and paranormal heritage across the Arab World.

At the Fiction Council, our mission is to dedicate ourselves to fostering imagination and creativity, inspiring positive and transformative change. We aim to establish a Jerusalem-based research and documentation center that focuses on Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic mythology, fantasy, and the paranormal, all in celebration of our rich cultural treasures. Our Objectives are simple and impactful: Establishing a research hub and a resource for artists, researchers, writers, creators and enthusiasts, etc., to encourage the exploration, documentation and archiving of Arab mythology, fantasy, paranormal heritage, and science fiction. Celebrating, protecting and expanding our cultural treasures, making them more accessible for people to explore across the Arab world, and conducting knowledge production. Supporting Palestinians in asserting their their identity during crisis by nurturing their imagination and creativity in a special communal space designed for self-discovery and growth in addition to the path of a visionary future.
