Join us for a screening and Q&A with the director (conducted virtually after the film).
As the onslaught of the 2023 invasion of Gaza ensued, a random slideshow of Monear’s trip in 2021 to his family’s homeland of Gaza was auto-generated on his iPhone’s photo album…
As the world witnesses the horrors of this genocide continuing to unfold, and while the media remains silent about the suffering of the Palestinian people…It soon became an obligation for Monear to produce this film.
In fact, it was his duty to share truth about the beautiful people of Gaza.
This is not just a documentary.
This is an invitation for every privileged person to use their voice.
This is your reminder that behind the headlines and statistics…There are real lives – lives that have been tormented by struggle, loss, and unimaginable agony for decades.
A message from the filmmaker:
As a result of the media’s continued dehumanization of the beautiful people of Gaza, it soon became imperative that the true reality and first hand experience of life in my family’s homeland of Gaza was shown to the world.
Ultimately, "Gaza Is Our Home" stands as a testament to the humanity behind the over 33,362 innocent lives massacred since Oct 2023...
My film reveals the untold and heart-wrenching realities endured by my own family.
My own grandmother, along with dozens of uncles, aunts, and cousins are suffering under some of the most horrific circumstances.
I’ve lost over 33 family members since oct 7th, including my moms sister, her husband, two sons, three daughters, their husbands and children as well.
