Plants offer many ways to enrich our connection to nature and place, but it can be difficult to sort out meaningful practices in the context of commercialization, commodification, and cultural appropriation. Join local herbalist Holly Poole-Kavana to explore ways to forge connections to local plants and create thoughtful rituals based on respect for plants, cultures, and our own selves. We'll use the Winter Solstice as an example for creating ritual.
Holly Poole-Kavana is a DC-based herbalist of northern European descent practicing in the Western herbal tradition. Her practice, Little Red Bird Botanicals, focuses on using locally grown plants as medicine.
