Neptune / Model Home / Special World

Sunday June 18 * 7pm * TICKETS

NEPTUNE:
Neptune's origins trace to 1994 as a sculpture project by Boston artist/musician Jason Sidney Sanford, who forged the band's haphazard guitars and reluctant drums from scrap steel and found objects. Nine lineups, multitudes of releases, and hundreds of instruments later, the band continues to wrench its sound-spatter on homemade stringed, electronic, and percussion instruments to often confounded audiences around the world. In 2008, they released the album Gong Lake with avant arbiter Table of the Elements, home to art heroes Tony Conrad, Rhys Chatham and Faust. Following that, the band released two LPs with the esteemed label Northern Spy Records. In late 2021, Neptune released the damaged puzzling sprawler Mother of Millions, originally recorded in 2009 and currently available via cassette. The lineup that made it - Jason Sidney Sanford, Mark William Pearson, and Daniel Paul Boucher - have reconvened and will embark on short tours beginning in 2023, marking the first performances from the trio since 2009

Special World:
Special World is the new project from Philadelphia multi-instrumentalist, songwriter & producer Andy Molholt. Continuing where he left off with his previous solo venture Laser Background, Special World combines Molholt's love of early Nintendo music with his penchant for outsider experimentation and sample manipulation. Driven by what Molholt himself describes as "persistent melodies," Special World is both an exploration of new territory and a sharpening of his past work. "I like to look both forwards and backwards," says Molholt, "As well as side to side. And underneath. Really trying to cover all my bases here. Are we done, can I go?" http://post-trash.com/news/2022/11/3/special-world-delta-p-post-trash-premiere
