Spectral Forces is a trio from Philadelphia consisting of Pete Dennis (bass), Julius Masri (drums), and Alex Smith (keys and words).
Seventh Shadow of the Sun is an elusive project out of Western Maryland that seeks to communicate and translate meditations by means of cosmic vibrational waves.
Abe Mamet, a French horn player who lives in Mount Rainier, MD, has been lauded as D.C.’s “major jazz French horn player” by the Washington Post, and named one of 2023's "artists to watch" by DCist. His work explores community and belonging, and always pushes for the sonic and technical possibilities of the French horn. Here, he will be joined by Daniel Carter (alto sax/trumpet), Luisa Muhr (voice), Jamie Sandel (violin), Keith Butler (drums), Pete Dennis (bass), Rahul Carlberg (keys/flute), and fall raye (tenor sax/percussion) to present new improvised work. The group will be celebrating the release of Abe's new tape, "The Thing We Fought For", which was recorded in Italy after a month-long residency alongside Luisa Muhr, Daniel Carter, fall raye, Rahul Carlberg, and many others, and which features Abe's music on one side with a reimagined meditation by Seventh Shadow of the Sun on the other.
